Municipality Cocentaina

Municipality of Cocentaina is located in the north of Province of Alicante in Valencian Community, Spain. It lies in the shores of Serpis River, in the slope of the Mountain range of Mariola. The neighbor municipalities of Agres, Alcocer de Planes, Alcoy, Benilloba, Benillup, Benimarfull, Gorga, Millena, Muro de  Alcoy, Penáguila and Bocairent.

Cocentiana has rich history dated back to the Paleolithic, Neolithic and at the time to pre-Roman times.

At present Cocentaina is an industrial population, centered in the textile industry in all scopes, from the staple fiber to the export of finished matter. Cocentaina and Alcoy form one of more important the Textile nuclei of Spain.
